NATHAN BURKE

Burkey was one of the most courageous footballers to play for the St Kilda Football Club. He set the club record for most number of games at his retirement, with 323, how held by former team-mate Robert Harvey. Burkey won the Sainst Best and Fairest three times and was alaso captain of the club. Since his retirement in 2003, he has been working for the Mettle Group as a consultant and is now a board member at St Kilda. | |
DAVID SCHWARZ

Recruited from Sunbury, Schwarz made his AFL debut in 1991. As a player for the Melbourne Football Club, he was known as "the Ox" for his beast-like build. During his playing career he experienced the highs and lows of AFL football. He suffered through three knee reconstructions, represented Victoria and won the Demons Best and Fairest in 1999. The Ox is now a commentator with Channel 7 and hosts the ‘Run Home’ with Francis Leach on 1116 SEN each weekday from 4-7pm. | |
DAVID RHYS-JONES

The 1987 Norm Smith Medalist was recruited from Oakleigh Districts, and began his career with South Melbourne in 1980 before moving south to Carlton in 1985. Rhys-Jones stood out on this field with his blond locks and aggressive nature. At the time of his retirement he held the record for the most tribunal appearances with 42. Rhys catches up with stars of the past in a walk down memory lane. | |
'CRACKERS' KEENAN

Crackers was recruited from Assumption College by Melbourne for whom he made his VFL debut in 1970. After playing 101 games for Melbourne in six seasons he signed for North Melbourne. He was North Melbourne's first ruckman in their 1977 premiership team and would have played in another Grand Final the following season had he not been suspended. | |

PHIL CLEARY

Cleary debuted for Coburg in the old VFA in 1975, and played 205 games, the third most in club history. He then coached the club between 1984-92, including leading them to back-to-back premierships in 1988-89. After football Phil moved into politics and was elected to the Australian House of Representatives in 1992. Since 1992, Phil has been a fixture on of the ABC’s VFL coverage on Saturday afternoons. | |
